We are currently looking for qualified, motivated individual to help in our blending department on 2nd Shift.

SUMMARY

Performs activities to support the Blender Operators in the formulation and blending preparation of raw meat product for processing, and sanitation of the Blending, Formulations and Seasoning rooms. Complies with all safety, food safety, SQF, quality, GMP and USDA requirements.
 
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Move meat vats to and from the Raw Cooler; load meat into the vat lift and dump into hopper per the production schedule.
  • From the Blending Pick List, identify the seasonings and additional ingredients for product scheduled to be blended during the shift.
  • Pick seasonings from spice warehouse and deliver to the Seasoning Room.
  • Select and transport blend inclusions (cheese, vegetables, fruit) from coolers.
  • Direct the activities of the temporary workers assigned to assist with inclusions during the shift.
  • Open and weigh inclusions per the day’s Blending Pick List and place into Zubas; deliver to the Blenders.
  • Pre-weigh & measure seasonings to prepare for upcoming blends, completing appropriate Blending Checklist documentation.
  • Return unused seasonings and ingredients to the warehouse and/or cooler and complete the Blending Checklist to document quantities.
  • Take meat vat temperatures in the Raw Cooler periodically as required and enter the data onto the Meat Vat Log to complete the documentation.
  • Assist with verifying blend lot numbers; apply blend labels to vats and vat covers.
  • Assist Blenders with assembling large grinders.
  • Using the small off-line grinder, complete grinding rework as instructed.
  • Complete vat inspections from the vat washing room on a daily basis.
  • Tear down boxes and containers from the spice warehouse and seasoning room and remove them to the recycling or dumpster areas to be disposed of appropriately.
  • Assist with sanitation and washdowns as necessary.
  • Dispose of all waste; mop and clean the Blending Room, Stuffing Room, coolers and /or the tower.
  • Perform more extensive sanitation tasks as assigned on Master Sanitation days.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations per established company policies.
  • Exercise safety precautions when using cleaning chemicals.
  • Follow established equipment Lockout/Tagout procedures as required.
  • Use a pallet jack and forklift equipment to pull and move product and supplies.
  • Provide backup assistance with packaging and palletizing as needs dictate.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands 
While performing the duties of this job, the partner is frequently required to stand for extended periods; walk; sit and talk or hear. The partner is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, with repetitive motions of hands, arms and shoulders. The partner must regularly lift up to 50# and carry up stairs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.  
 
Work Environment 
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. There is a wide variation of temperatures, ranging from 35° F to 100° F in the various other work areas.  The work environment in Blending is wet and slippery. The noise level in the production work environment is usually loud.  Partners are required to wear frocks, hairnets, composite-toed slip-resistant footwear, and hearing protection at all times in the production areas.  Gloves, goggles, face shield, dust mask, rain suits and rubber boots will be required at different times in the course of the work being performed.
